I am currently looking at purchasing a new pc for gaming, this pc will receive a moderate overclock when complete (Corsair H50 or H70 , whatever is quitter). The processors i am considering are the AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 95W and AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 125W edition can anyone advise which processor is the best bet for overclocking?

No you have to buy it as a bundle or in a system. Maybe you could get them on auction sites. OCUK have a nice bundle for 350 you could look at.

Is the 95W version a limited run? Or is it just limited release while they sell the backlog of 125w cpus?

no, its just meant for commercial OEM builders...

Cheapskate OEM's like lower power parts, means they can skimp on costs when it comes to MOBO's, PSU's, Cooling....

u can only buy a Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 125W edition without buying a whole system.

so i would said get the 125W edition . it should do 3.8-4ghz (if you get a good chip)

or even a 1075t when it's in stock.
