Does anyone know how or know of a tutorial etc. on how to create an effect as in the image bellow? I'm talking about the orange spill effect, that looks like paint thrown.

I looks quite hard to do. I searched on google but wasn't quite sure what to call the effect

*appologies if this is not the correct forums :s*

it looks like somebody has taken a photo of paint being thrown, and a photo of somebody running, and merged the two together in photoshop

Dont think its an effect, it really is just a photo of somebody throwing paint in a studio, which is what gives it that interesting lighting on the paint.

Looks like two tins to me, one thrown from each side.

MrLOL is right, there's no brush work it's simply a photo of spilled paint lasso'd around the photograph of the chap. Quite simple to achieve. Search deviantart for stock photography of paint spills or similar.

you could probably get close using throse brushes however

saves hiring a studio and studio lighting / cameras etc.. to throw paint around :)

But if your a big company with an advertising you probably dont care.
