A friend of mine has just invested some money in trying to start-up his own web business. His site can be found here.

What I'm wondering is, would anyone be kind enough to design a logo/top banner for the website? At the moment he has terrible stock images, and is stuck using horrible clip-art, etc. I can't recall the exact image dimensions, but I think the size specifications was something along the lines of 700px by 150px although don't take my word for that. The banner ideally needs to sit in the centre at the top, below the standard navigation bar. I'd find the original dimensions from the template banner.jpg but he seems to have moved or deleted it.

My friend is offering £20 to be spent through the site for any logo that he really likes. In his own words, he's pretty much else out of pocket as it's all been thrown at getting it up and running. You're also free to use it as part of portfolio work if that's your thing.

I feel like I'm grasping at straws here, but if anyone feels like having a stab at it for me I'd be very thankful and you can also buy some pap as a prize. :p

TIA!

Don't mean to be rude but that site needs hell of a lot more than a logo designed..

Agreed.

And £20 that you have to spend back on his site?

I'm out.

The site's code would suggest it's an affiliate clone. The cost of setup would have been minimal so I think asking for a freebie is a bit much. Anyway I agree with gee, that site needs a lot more than a new logo.

I willl offer one quick nugget of advice that will easily improve the look of the site quickly: Change the background colour from pale blue to something that actually goes with the colours used for the rest of the site.

The site has nothing to do with me.

At the moment, it's all a default template that he's slowly editing, so ignore what the rest of the site looks like, it's irrelevent. He's just after a main banner to get the ball rolling as he's stuck with stock images that are well... crap.

Also, I think the banner image should be ~950px by 275px.

As above. Ignore the rest of the site, it's a work-in-progress. He actually wants to change the rest of the site to fit in with the background. He's a website noob, so it's all a slow slog for him.
