How cruel can women be?

I can't personally understand why women do this, being a woman and all I figured I should but really dont
the way I see it you shouldn't do to anyone else what you wouldn't want done to you, no matter how bad the break up or how much you got hurt. Ive read about cases of angry girlfriends smashing up x-boxes and expensive stereo's etc and just baffles me if I get mad at my boyfriend I yell at him but that's as far as it goes

A mate of mine was seeing a nut job recently. We knew she was a nut job from the start as she would be the type to make a scene at parties or in town and end up crying and making her self look like a fool. He was getting really sick of her spoiling all of his nights so when we were going to a mates engagement party he txt her to say he was just having a quiet night and would see her on the Sunday.
Cue a txt at 2am, "The bitch has wrecked my house"
Spoke to him the next day and he apparently got home to find the front door unlocked and his hallway looking a tip, went into the living room to find his LCD TV smashed, red wine on his cream sofa and a few things thrown at the wall. The kitchen had been smashed up and all his food and plates etc pulled out the cupboards. Toilet and sink in the bathroom both smashed and the mirror and shower screen in bits.
He went into his bedroom to find his now ex-gf in a heap in the floor crying. His immediate reaction was that she had been attacked by someone in the house but when he went over to him she tried to stab him with a kitchen knife to which he kicked her over and made a run it and called the police.
Turns out she thought he was cheating on her. Daft bar steward didnt press charges but did get her to pay for the contents of virtually a new house!

Jesus... He should have pressed charges to get her locked up. She'll end up doing the same to some other poor sod in the future.

Everyone said the same thing but she is from a rather notorious family (found out after meeting her) so decided that if she paid for the damaged stuff then it would be less grief in the long run.

She broke up with me and wanted to stay friends so stupidly I said ok (young love!) hoping we would get back together one day.
She came to see a friend of mine to go on a night out and that's when she went mental.
After running out of the club she went to a graveyard and decided to fake a fit in front of all my friends. An ambulance was called as everyone thought she was dead (had stopped moving for about five minutes).
When the paramedics turned up she decided to jump up, attack them physically and verbally before running off and sleeping in a doorway.
Needless to say no one has tried speaking to her since...
