Karl Pilkington - An Idiot Abroad

The way he see's and understands things is strange and interesting and funny, also the way he words things is sometimes hilarious in itself. If you don't get it, don't watch any more.

It was hillarious in my opinion. I wouldnt say you need to be a fan, infact my mother has no idea who he is but she finds some of his reactions hillarious.

When it came to eating a toad and he said "i think your son is choking" it was in stitches.

I guess you just dont like this kind of thing. Its not scripted comedy with punchlines, its simply situations that are a giggle.
 
I think what makes it so funny is his naivety and his lack of worldly experiences.

He is so set in his way's anything outside of what he calls the norm scares him.

His reactions were just quite amusing, he seemed shocked and bewildered that the world isn't the same.
 
I love Karl, love the show and really looking forward to the next episodes.

I can understand peoples contempt for Karl, thinking he is a comedian playing out a role, but for me I feel he's more like a religious person (I don't think he's a scripted comedian btw)
The reason I say this is that the way people react to Karls stories, is very similar to the ways I react to people telling me religious stories/experiences.

I cannot understand or comprehend how they can talk straight faced and have conviction in what they are saying.

I am similar to Ricky, in that I become baffled at what these people are saying/claiming are fact all based on a simple book. This is similar to when Karl reads something on the Internet and treats it as Gospel.

The beauty about this show is it takes weird situations and has Karl comment on them from a strange perspective that actually in turn has many valid points no matter how insane it might be.
 
Karl is on XFM shows with Russell Brand from many years ago and even then comes across in exactly the same light, did they start developing the character back then?
 
watching now, im not a massive fan of this gervais, im just hoping that karl pilkinton funny as gervais is doing my head in..
