Hi All

Does anyone know where I can get some free sound files of people reading out numbers from? doesn't matter what format.

They need to be free/royalty free

Thanks

Walk into your local gala bingo with a recording device and carrying a breifcase.

Sit next to a group of old ladies.

Look serious and say "I think the low pressure system is upon us at the moment"

Acknowlege their response as being the correct passprase.

Pass one the briefcase, and leave.

Once outside, swear at yourself for getting distracted and forgetting to record the bingo caller.

How about the windows accessibility reader thingy? You could record that with audacity, or does it have to be human?

thanks for the replies guys :)

It's for a project at work, we could convince someone to record themselves but I was just wondering if there were some pre-recorded files we could use and save ourselves a bit of time.

That link to the shortwave Numbers Stations is pretty interesting! I've never heard anything like that before

What i've never understood with the numbers stations (especially as some are broadcasting 24 hours a day) is why people don't just find the source of the transmission using triangulation or directional antennas and ask them why they are transmitting?

Rumour has it there's a gentlemen's agreement between various governments that "if you don't jam ours, we won't jam yours".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UVB-76

That is the site of one in Russia.

Voice messages from UVB-76 were very rare until a sudden spate of activity in August 2010.[9] They are usually given in Russian by a live, female voice and repeated.[10] Approximately seven such messages have been intercepted in over twenty years of (non-continuous) observation.

Looks like its had some recent activity, just last month.
