The *Official* Eve Online Thread

plays very nice on the new i7 15" MBP, getting 60fps in missions, havnt tried large fleet fights on it as its for my alt, she sticks to mining and missions :D

Eve is governed to 60fps, you can change this in the graphics settings. Mine hits over 300fps when I do this. It's the interval setting.

Hey guys. Does the OCUK corp do PvP or is it strictly PvE?

I'm starting to really get into the game but trying to solo PvP in low sec with an Interceptor is proving very costly due to my inexperience. I'd really like to get into some fleet PvP, even if that's just tackling or taking out drones initially. Don't really care what region of space we do it in as I'll relocate most of my stuff.

Unbelievable. I uninstalled this game today thinking I dont have time to play it, but then I see that trailer and think...omg.

Does the game really play like that? (I mean I havent played the game much tbh!)

It's sandbox, so you can play it however you want. There is that much depth it's incredible. If you just log in and then wait for something awesome to happen though it won't. You have to find it. It's not like a quest driven MMO like WoW where you're guided through content. :)

You can do PvP while in the OcUK corp, the corp itself offers no pvp ops but other corps in the alliance do and you are welcome to tag along with them.

Cool. I'm going to be able to pilot an Orca in about 11 days on my 2nd account, would that be of use to the OcUK Corp as well or do you guys mainly do mission running? :)

Would certainly be of use to TXSI (another corp in the ocuk alliance)
We get involved in PvP too, so if you're and inty pilot who can also fly an Orca you'll be very useful - say Hi in the ocuk channel and we can go from there. Could often do with some dedicated tackle from a player happy to fly an Inty :)

Who's your character ingame Murf?

Ventoo is the Hulk pilot training for an Orca. Scimer is the Inty\AF pilot. Seperate accounts. I have a third I use for manufacturing\trade\hauling. Just takes too much time to train everything otherwise. I'm quite low SP on the accounts at the moment though. :)

Edit - I'm more than happy to fly an inty. I just want to learn the ropes and get involved in fleet actions at the moment. I'm just not good enough to solo PvP in low sec. I get violently murdered everytime. :p

What's your ingame character?

Well, I'm back in the game. GC and Scalding Pass is no more, but having fun in Querious with S2N and my old corp.

I'm near enough starting from scratch again though - Got 5m to my name. Lost ~500m worth of stuff when we lost our Sov in Scalding Pass and I was on the other side of the world. Ah well.

Yeah, visit the ocuk channel guys, it has most of the forum people there (sorta). We'd be happy to give you advice on all things eve. We have contacts to full on pvp corps should that be more to your liking.

The ocuk / ocps alliance has branches in production / manufacturing, missioning and some pvp. We're by no means a pvp alliance, but the corp i'm in tends to branch out that way considering the nature of what we do.

We've got specialists in pi, sleepers, general wormhole mechanics and logistics which is what i do. All in all, quite a broad range of activities if you would like to know more, come and loiter!

Wondering if I should get back into this... played a year or two back, but the whole world felt so empty. I never got into a corp, so I guess I missed out on the social aspect.

Seems like the game where I can just log in for a bit and explore/roam rather than feel committed to it. Can also log in for skill-ups and stuff too. Might make a new trial account and see how it goes!

Yeh you missed a big part of the game by not getting into a corp. Playing the game in a group is so much more fun than being solo :)
