Ok so as the title says I just bought a Samsung 3D Series 7 TV (40"). I received the glasses today and I am desperate to see what sort of effect this TV can produce. However I don't have Blu-Ray 3D DVD to test and Sky 3D isn't out :P

So is there a 3D demo video I can download that anyone knows of that I can put on a memory stick and plug it in or anyone else got any other ideas?
(Btw I've been on Internet TV and tried to watch 3D youtube but it just doesn't seem to work.)

Sky run demo's on their 3D channel - 217, I think, but you have to phone them and provide details of your TV for them to activate it.

HAve you got a ps3? Its been given a new firmware update that makes it blu-ray 3d ready

although it may not be a video but have you tried any of the 3D games that are on PSN? thats if you own a PS3 of course :p

There is some websites where you can download Side by Side 3D clips i've downloaded a few clips from this site http://www.biohemmet.se/blandade3dvideosihd.php but there's also

I put the files on a USB in a Movies folder plugged into PS3 and it plays most of them. I had to select Side by Side 3D on the TV settings as it doesn't seem to do it automatically.

I used the PS3 as the TV doesn't seem to understand some of the clips or gave me skippy playback. Some clips look more 3D than others The Panasonic Promo and Furry Friends one are good.

I bought a HD TV well before you could get HD media in this country, thank the lord for USENET ;)

its funny how short some peoples memory is.

It seems to be the cool thing to "hate 3D" at the moment. I was a bit sceptical, but after playing Madden NFL11 in 3D at the sony store in the States, i'm converted.

Yes its a gimmick, but its one that makes games / movies more fun so it gets a thumbs up from me.

I'm not a hater it just seems that the rush to be an early adopter is a bit mad, we are on very much first generation technology and the tech is such that there are going to be massive leaps in the first few years.

If you have loads of money then fair enough I guess but it just seems a lot to waste on a technology that will be quickly superseeded especially given the incredibly limited content available.

If I was in the market for a new TV I would consider 3D, there's not much of a premium over a non 3D TV.

HEADRAT

3D is kinda cool, since watching Avatar in 3D I'm hooked on it but it's really hard finding anything that's true 3D in blue-ray, it's killing the format. Most annoying thing is most of the 3D Blue-ray's are all exclusives to hardware being purchased with it.

How long it will last I don't know, 3D has come and gone before but it's really good fun with games like Wipeout HD and the soon to be release Gran Turismo 5 will have 3D too. It might be here to stay?

I'll get a 3d tv once a) more media is available in it and b) i dont need the glasses. I already wear glasses, i dont want to wair a second pair. Also, if a bunch of people come over to watch the big match i dont want to need 12 pairs of glasses.

Yes but a HD TV has a greater pixel density and is worth it for upscaling lower quality sources alone. A 3d tv is dependant on a 3d source and right now there is no benefit.

Its like touchscreen phones. Even now I am only just at the point of considering a smart phone because the first generation of a product cycle is always, always a joke. Likewise i feel no sympathy for people who bought HD-DVD boxes and discs, because you placed your bets on an unproven product.

Its just poor consumerism

That's my general perception. Being an early adopter is generally a mug's game.

Whilst Avatar 3D at IMAX blew my mind it was that good, I tried some 3D TVs in John Lewis and it left me thoroughly unimpressed.
