CPUZ results..confused

Guys quick n00bish question. I have a prebuilt system and its meant to be overclocked to 4ghz, however CPUZ is showing it at 2.29. I'm confused...

All is good, its just Intel Speedstep (power saving technology which reduces CPU multiplier when CPU is lightly loaded).

If you put the CPU under some load it will jump up to full speed. You can test this running a CPU stress tester like OCCT.

Yea. Also, you can disable the SpeedStep/EIST in bios if you wish.

it wont be, speedstep is a cpu thing, not a motherboard
