Hello all

Basically, we moved into a house in May, and the fisrt thing we noticed that might be an issue was the parking...So, I told my nearest neighbour who will be most affected by this that if i'm ever in the way, just ask to move the car...They've done this once untill today.

Basically, we had a big hoo-har about out electricity recently, so ive been finding out about it...I asked my letting agent to supply me with details of when the previous tennants moed out...They obliged, but also told me about parking and they had been made aware that we were occasionally blocking people in?

Now...fast forward to today, and I get a knock on my door asking if i can move my car....I had literally just marinated some chicken....So I said, okay, if you can just wait 5 minutes for me to wash my hands as they were covered in all sorts, all I get back is:

Woman: 'I can't wait 5 minutes'...
So I just said, 'well I need to wash my hands first before I move...Can you not ask the people across the road to move as its easier?'

Woman: 'No I want you to move your car'

Now, this woman, has moaned before, and she isn't nice about it either, all we've ever done is be nice to these people and ask them to tell us to move our car, but we just get aggro about it...

What do I can? If anything? I know parkings tight, but seriously...would they rather I park in front of the garage so I actually block them off? Or what? I own a clio, its not even a big car.

:(

Is there anywhere I can find out car park allocation or?

check she has road tax and insurance online, if not, alert the police who will seize her car- problem solved.

Why are you blocking people in? I would be annoyed having to go to your door just to get out too.

Also 5 minutes to wash your hands? Do you wash them to surgeon quality or something?

Yeah, this.

Why are you blocking people in? If it's just a case that you can't park outside your house, suck it up and park somewhere else.

Now,
Your reply should have been the following "tough titty I'll move it asap after I have washed my hands, so show some Patience for **** sake!"

i woudln't worry about it. if all you're getting is an annoyed woman knocking at your door a few times since you've moved in then stop being a girl and deal with it just as she has to.

what i know often happens is if someone has to go knocking on a neighbours door asking for them to keep it down/move car/stop doing something etc that they usually get themselves worked up and "angry" so that the neighbour sees they're serious and in charge of the conversation so will not respond back with anger but instead just do what has been asked. possibly this is the situation so don't take any notice of it.

As above don't block people in and 5mins is silly, I would be annoyed as well. It takes 30secs max to wash hands.

You don't have a right to park in front of your house, when I lived near the centre I often had to park 3 even 4 streets away depending on the time of day, you never block people in though, unless they're parked on your drive.

Eh? :p

I'm not, i'm parking outside my house, I could park in front of my garage which would be worse.

It was raw chicken, and i quite frankly don't want chilli marinade all over my steering wheel.

Yeah, this.

As above really.

Their house is in a corner, the previous occupants parked in the same place as me and sometimes in front of the garage.

I park practically on top of my front door.

OP is vague about the exact scenario but I'd be annoyed if I had to ask someone every time I wanted to go out or park my car.

THEY DONT

They've asked twice, the man can drive out fine, the woman has to ask every time, which has been once, then today with some old man driving the thing.

The trouble stems when the neighbour across the road parks here as well, so its not just my car.
