Who should be leader of the Labour party?

Ed has won according to the guardian. That's great, exactly what the country needs :D

Looks like he won on preference votes after David won the first round.

Meh, this is sad for the country. Everyone in the Tories and Lib Dems are pleased, but I am not.

With the Lib Dems in government, Labour has to be slick opposition for government accountability. That isn't MilliEd. Let me be clear, I support the deficit cut programme, but there is a debate to be had about ways, means and where.

Pretty sad

What is worse, this increases the chance of Ed Balls becoming shadow Chancellor. That is bad news. He sweeps up a following of people who know no better, which could be dangerous for the deficit argument.

Ed Balls, after all, is a fanticist.

David won the first three, it was only the on the fourth round that Ed won.

Perhaps that's why he came out with a huge grin on his face. Thought he'd be a bit more upset though. :p

The question now is: Can Labour win with Ed in charge? Or will they go back into the wilderness years?
As a Labour supporter, I say the chance of their winning the next general election is pretty much zip. The only candidate with even a shred of credibility as prime minister was David, Ed will stand no chance at all.

That's even taking into account the response of the people to the public spending cuts, which will, by default, make people resent this government.

Irony. Labour leader talking about how the poor/rich gap is too big. It got worse under their stewardship.
Their fault was not undoing the catastrophic damage done by Thatcher. It was under her that the gap increased to such an extent that it maybe impossible to shrink.

They were destined for the wilderness years anyway, but no, I don't think Ed can win, certainly not if he lurches left economically...
