How to Improve OCUK?

I would like to see the forum logo changed to reflect the shop's one. I could tell you why but you wouldn't care so I'll not bother. lol!

The forums would benefit from posters becoming members and paying an annual fee, 10 bucks or something.

Also, removing the pointless avatars would make me happy. I just don't see the point in avatars - which are supposed to be used to identify posters and can be very personal - to be limited to 3 or 4 characters from a film. I mean, what is the point?

1)What?, are you out of your mind?
The OcUK forums have managed just fine without charging for access, what possible good could come from such a u-turn?

2)You can disable avatars in your User CP. (And by that I mean you can completely disable all avatars being displayed, not just your own.)

I just wish they would seriously consider some of the members ideas and opinions...

One example - A suggestion was made in July this year to make changes to the Mac forums... So a poll was setup and it looked as if most people wanted the change. Almost 3 months in and nothings changed - people have continually posted in the thread asking whether it was happening or not - Still haven't heard anything :(

And can we please have the black theme as an official theme on the boards - It'd literally be a 5 minute install, and that way I won't have to install anything else onto my Firefox installation :p

Less "OMG UBER DEAL AT MIDNIGHT LOLZ STAY UP GUYS!"

*£1 off graphics card*

"TOLD YOU IT WAS A GOOD DEAL LOL"

Also less
UBER AMAZING DEAL SPAMMED IN EVERY FORUM

But we all know that's not going to happen :p

Also totally agree with the above two points :p The third one most importantly :p Just feels like no one really cares what any of the members think - and without the members where would we be? :p

1) No, I'm not. A charge for forum use may reduce the number of numpties who post here. 'GUYS HOW DO I TURN ON THE WASHING MACHINE LOLS ??!' threads get really tiring really quickly and there seem to be more and more of them lately.

2) I know this. My point was that avatars are supposed to be an online extension of you. Generic avatars don't provide this and are therefore pointless. It's an observation more than than anything else really :)

1) I feel Godwins law lurking somewhere, just because someone doesn't measure to your yardstick doesn't mean they should be removed from sight.

2) Fair enough, I'll concede on that point.

1) Godwin is nowhere in sight, or at least that certainly wasn't my intention. The forums - and I suppose I really mean GD when I say this - can be painful to read at times. A charge may put off the type of person who is likely to post crap. Then again it may put off someone who would bring value to the forums so, yeah, what do I know? I'll have to think about this one a bit more.

2) It's all good. As I said, it was just a thought :)

More competitions would be nice. Not always photoshop ones either. There could be a variety of ways to use them to promote the biz.
