Codemasters F1 2010 X360/PS3 (contains important question about 2011 game!!!)

The AI is known to be non-effected by fuel loads, while the player is effected. This is regardless of race lengths. On 100% races this issue is that much more obvious, due to the fact there there are 40 - 60 laps in a 100% race.

The AI starts by doing 3 - 4 seconds faster than you for the first half of the race. By this time you're getting lapped by other cars. By the end of the race the AI will have lapped you about 2 - 3 times.

Simple test:

Turn fuel simulation on. Start a race. Can you keep up with the AI off the line? No, not with fuel simulation on.

Now, turn fuel simulation off. Start a race. Can you keep up with the AI off the line? Yes, with fuel simulation off.

its not a bug/fault, its a massive sham. The whole offline game is pointless, its just a big time trial with fake AI cars.

Sure online can be fun, but the offline mode should be realistic. Such a shame as the game handles and feels great. Come on codies, get your heads down and get this issue fixed!

This isn't something that can be patched or fixed for this version of the game.

Can someone please confirm if slip streaming is working? It isn't for me. Another thing I noticed was Trulli pitted and I was 22 seconds ahead when he came back out.
He then proceeded to do the same lap times as Vettel and within 5 laps he was on my gearbox then started lapping at a backmarkers pace.
I personally think they ran out of time tbh because stuff like this should have come up in Q&A. I am getting used to the actual driving but the bugs are spoiling the game for me.

One thing I do like is if you adjust the wing angle or engine mapping in race the driver does it on the steering wheel as well.

I am devastated there is no Fleetwood Mac in this game :(

Quick question, can the Logitech Driving Force GT be used without pedals? Also if some kind soul could post a pic of the bottom of the wheel i would be very greatful, trying to see if i could somehow mount one on a chair with a bit of bodging..

So is this game just full of lol?

Seems such a shame, the last decent f1 game I played was the psygnosis one on the ps1.

Was really thinking of buying this but not now from what I have read.

Hmm, now I no why no demo came out because nobody would buy it, I said it would be crap and well it is judging from all the posts, people moaning about it rather then erm playing it.

Entertain me, where exactly in this thread did you predict this game would be crap. It's far from crap. You wouldn't like it, that's for sure but plenty of people do and will despite the niggles. I take it you won't be buying fifa 11 this year as that will have plenty of flaws as well.

Ignore the retards, it's a great game.

It's the usual ocuk retard overreaction.

I don't think it is.
The game is fun to drive, but it is fundamentally flawed.

I was playing late last night and couldn't work out why the cars just behind me were outpacing me on the clock but not catching me up, and why I couldn't see cars that were allegedly half a second in front of me. I also couldn't work out why I was getting royally screwed over at every pit stop no matter when I stopped. Having read some of the threads on the other forum linked earlier, I now know.

I Personally think that most haters of this game are simply rFactor/iRacing or whatever addicts thinking thier beloved game is the best and only the best can drive well in them .

and the idea of a console game that is so realistic and could let every one get in the show and be competitve is making them quite upset , I'm not sure if you get my point but I sure hope so.

ofcourse there are some dissapointing bugs which hopefully can be patched but nevertheless the gameplay is very very satisfying and enjoyable for me, and that's what matters.

Lol. Get a grip, the game is poor! I have never played either of those games you mention, but for an F1 game to be released this state is a joke! Codemasters have hoodwinked everyone with this game.

Hi all,

I have not read this thread, so forgive anything thats already been said.
I initially played on a pad, and only went on a practice run @ Bahrain.
I chose Lotus and went out with manual everything and only the cornering visual aid on, as I don't know the tracks that well. I found the controls very skittish and the car was really moving about a lot on the track. This is compared to playing forza initially so i was a bit peed off. Then I got the MSwheel out and the game / car really came alive. I don't see how you can get an f1 car around the track with a pad... there so much more control in with a wheel . The pros and cons of the wheel have been discussed many times so i wont go into that here.

With manual gears I found i had to change gear almost constantly, and the sound of the limiter kicking in is just horrible, so Ive gone to auto gears so I can focus on the steering and not the ripping up of the gear box.

I drove a race weekend and came p1 at the end of the qualification, which I felt in a lotus on medium setting was a bit to easy, but come to the race I was 13th after lots of spins from hitting kerbs to hard !

online was the same as ever, first corner dash and smash.. so ill single player it until I get some skills up.

it looks great and i can feel the speed around the tracks, so all in all a good game for a f1 or racing fan. i wondered hoe good it would be, and its better than expected and needs a lot more concentration that forza say, im amazed at the grip the cars generate.

Watched the real singapore qually yesterday and the track looks great from above but dam it looks a gret and drab concrete track from the drivers POV.

Ha, just had a great one, started from pole and stayed ahead of button who was lapping 2.5s a lap faster then me (despite never actually gaining on me always about .5 behind), we pitted at the same time and I made it out first. By this time I was in second place as 3rd place man (vettel) had yet to pit.

He never did either.

Both button and I overtook vettel on the 4th lap to end. So the current order was-

Me
Button
Vettel (who started 8th, had the awesome strategy of never having a pit stop)

The race finished in this order.

I was so happy that I had for the first time put a consistent crash free race together that I almost didnt notice that the game gave the win to vettel. It gave the win to the guy who I could see behind both button and I while on the final straight.

WTF.

Im not going to stop playing this game, the only reason for this is because its new and I enjoy driving games. I suppose in a way its a stop gap until Fifa 11 turns up, that will keep me occupied for many months. Hopefully by then Codemaster will release a patch or two to get this game to the same level as the 'reviewers' played.

Could you spout any more rubbish in this thread, it's almost amusing.

Of course people will be complaining on a "forum", everyone enjoying the game will be playing the game.
