I don't understand.... no one would own more than a share of the game, and only one person would be able to login into Steam at a time....

Am I missing something majorly obvious?
 
Let's get this straight:

month 1: 100 people chip in £4, 13 names are picked and are awarded a gifted steam game of their choice.
month 2: everyone chips in, 13 different names picked.
and so on...

Is this what you mean?

What's to stop the first 13 people from going on a permanent holiday, they just scored a £30 game for £4, conversely I feel sorry for the 13 people last on the list, to them it would be no different to simply save the money each month.

Or are you thinking about getting people to subsidise the cost of games for others?

If you can't afford £20-30 a month for a luxury purchase maybe you should start using the time you spend surfing the boards to look for more lucrative employment! :P

some of us dont have the option of having a good job with good income's.

if it's a bad idea then fair enough.

just thought i would suggest something different on ocuk then spamming gd all the time.

i have a mortgage like many people but im the only one bringing in money so £30 a month is a lot to me.
 
Sounds like saving but being unable to use the money when you want. People would be far better off saving up themselves than handing cash over to someone else and having to wait until they're picked - which could be years or never.
 
So over a 12 month period, that £30 game suddenly turns into a £48 game. Good idea? I think not!

If you can't afford £30 outright, but can afford £4 a month, then just save up for 8 months.
 
As others have said, terrible idea!

Put £4 a month into a jar, and after 8 months break the jar open and buy yourself a game... If you implemented your idea and rotated the 13 people who got a game, then each person would get 1 game every 8 months... Sounds more like you want a game next month but you can't afford it so you're after a thinly disguised loan...?

In which case it's a perfectly good idea as long as the OP has to wait 12 months for his game anyway. :D

i would wait 12 months to get a game.

i only game less than a hour a day so i can wait.

dont worry about it now....bad idea !
 
Anybody happeen to have the original idea saved on ctrl+v? I hate when people remove their stupid posts because they're embarassed, it's much less fun.
