Toyota Corolla T-Sport

I like them, yeah they aren't as hot as a CTR/182, but they offer a good compromise and are good value.

They aren't the best handlers, but certainly aren't the worst, and the engine in them is not bad at all.

I guess they never did too well becuase of their looks and the fact that they just seme a bit plain/average compared to the competition.

But that's part of their appeal I think, a friend of mine has one and after going in it a few times it's not a bad car at all.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder....

and whilst im the 1st to admit the CTS isnt the most beautiful thing going i like the look of it, and i dont like the look of the LCR. doesnt really matter what anyone else thinks does it? and its the mundane looks that attract me to it, plus the fact toyotas are generally very reliable.

but that said i will seriously consider a 182 and will pop myself in one before i take the plunge with the CTS

The 182 is quite a different beast, going in one will make you realise how soft the CTS is. Great cars though they are, I couldn't handle your shoulders pretty much touching your passengers!

i have had a TS for 2 and a bit years now. enjoy driving it.

ive added eibach lowering springs, rear anti roll bar, strut brace etc to sort the handling, plus fresh tyres all around. it now handles surprisingly well, considering how terrible they come (especially in pre facelift form, with higher springs and no front strut).

i looked at all the other cars that you did but for insurance and buy price they were out of the range so i went corolla.

BMW forums as well :(

One of them used to be about people asking whether they should buy Michelin Tyres or Continentals, and which main dealer was best. Now it's full of people with ebay angel eyes, awful mods, smoked indicators and arguing there is nothing wrong with Nangkangs.

Theyve always been there, you just havent noticed. First they were onto the E30's, then E36's, now E39's and E46's.

My mum has a Corolla T Sport, and whilst its not the most thrilling and engaging car, its certainly quick enough, well put together and the most reliable car she has owned. The only unusual problem she had was the front drivers side window motor and supporting bracket fail.
