Any 1920x1200 120Hz monitors?

I've currently got a Dell 2407 and don't think I'd like losing the vertical height getting a 1080 monitor. Are there any 1920x1200 120Hz monitors? Anything on the horizon?

Ideally I'd like to buy two extra screens and use them with my current Dell but does eyefinity support mixed Hz monitors?

Thanks.

Yes they do. They don't support 3D Vision glasses but that has nothing to do with it. There was also an issue with you having to manually raise the clock speeds slightly in 2D I believe but that shouldn't be a problem.

I was under the impression that 120 Hz screen + HD5000 = trouble. There may be some workarounds, but you can't just plug them together and enjoy the picture.

I believe there is an issue with 2D, which causes a screen to flicker, and that hasn't been resolved as to date. Hence, I would not recommend 120 Hz screen + HD5000.

Seeing as these are the Overclockers forums and people like to tweak things, I don't see this as a problem. Of course it would be better if things worked off the bat but if somebody has an AMD/ATI graphics card and they want a 120Hz monitor then they shouldn't hold back.

I don't believe there are any 1920x1200 120Hz monitors, for two main reasons:

1st: Companies don't seem interested in 16:10 any more...
2nd: I'm not sure if DVI-D can cope with the amount of data required for 120Hz at such a resolution. EDIT: No, a quick Wiki disproves that one...

Yeah that's what I thought. I think I'll hold out to see if something comes along. It would feel like downgrading going to 1080 screens even if they were 120Hz.

It's a shame we haven't had the resolution increases we used to get with crt's. Like my old 20" viewable 2048x1536 NEC with text so small you could barely see it :-)

I wouldn't hold my breath for 1920x1200 120Hz monitors. As Marvin points out - it is technically possible to push a 120Hz 1200p signal through a dual-link DVI connection, but I don't think the monitor makers will do it.

Mainly because 1080p (16:9) has become the de facto standard for consumer-grade monitors. Only higher-end "prosumer" or older monitors use the 1200p resolution, and AFAIK there is not much demand for 120Hz in this sector. Considering it is also the "wrong" aspect ratio (16:10) and would require even more (not inconsiderable) GPU grunt I wouldn't hold out much hope. That all said - OLEDs will be here properly in a few years and 120Hz will be nothing to them.

If I had to guess - the next jump the 120Hz monitors would take would be to 2560x1440, this preserves the "desirable" 16:9 aspect ratio and would have to be fed by a displayport connection. However, will they do this before OLED comes along and makes 120Hz LCD obsolete? - I really don't know.
