Why bother getting this then as I would rather have a more up to date bit of technology

Avoid XFX! The card they make are failing badly. They used to be good quality but this has really slipped.

I must admit I agree.. I Have had 4 5970s... 2 broke, 2 were replacemtns. I soon sold these. never will I put my hand in my pocket for an xfx product again.

Despite assurances that XFX have the lowest faulty product rate of return I still do not have as much confidence in them over most other brands.
