Looking at getting some Vtec in my life with a budget of circa 15-1800 pounds and I'm thinking about a vti

Now bring a Vw man at heart my knowledge of the Honda and jam Y0 is weak

Fill mr in guys I know it's a revvy good handling 160 bhp hatch

But anymore info or possible alternatives!

Yeah, EG is 91-95, EK is 96-2000, I think MB is also 96-2000. EG6 3dr, EG9 4dr, EK4 3dr/4dr Ferio, MB6 5dr Rover-alike.
All come with B16A, except MB6 which has B18C4.

http://www.civic-vtis.co.uk/history.php - A quick read :)

My brother had a VTi-S 4dr in Pirates Black (Of course!) and it was a lovely car. Reasonably quick and very smart looking. Interior with the half leather was nice for a jap car too :) He now has a 3dr VTi and really there is not much difference looks aside apart from the slight weight difference.

My main criticism with them is the steering feel, feels non-existant with the 3dr as the steering is ridiculously light and massively assisted. Now that is on a stock example and could be due to wear and tear of chasis.

For that budget you won't get a particularly nice 3 door hatch or coupe, even very high milage/abused examples fetch silly money. The 4 door saloons are better value, though rarer, and one of the Rover 400 clones will probably be the newest/lowest mileage example. However, even with the B18 engine they are not as lively or entertaining to drive as the proper Civics IME.

Silly cars IMO. Most of the disadvantages of a mid engined car (2 seats, small luggage compartments etc.) with none of the advantages.

That particular one doesn't have a B series engine either, it's not a VTi.

They look alright but I'd much prefer the previous model.

However finding a decent VTEC model for 1500-1800 could be tricky as they tend to go for a little more, but can be done :)

Yeah each ad seems to mention rot somewhere, but think they look great retro little hatches.

Prefer the 1990-ish modle to the really early ones though, but they still look good. And have nice seats :)

fap tastic that wee crx. as above though, the idea of rot scares me somewhat. :)

the one beyond that eg/ek etc is where the love is going atm.

although i could be tempted by a prelude etc.

Speak to Gaijin, he had possibly one of the best examples I've seen! (Although to be fair I haven't seen many, no disrespect! :p)

Really like them although never had the pleasure.
