Cut in front tyre

Evening boys and girls,

I've obviously run over a piece of debris which has taken offence, and also a chunk out of one of my six-week old Continental Sportcontact 3s :rolleyes:

Should I be worried?

It's not gone that deep - 1-2mm ish, and the bit hanging off is about 15mm long, so I'd guess it's just going to wear down being in the middle of one of the tread blocks? Or is it now three times as likely to explode at 90mph on the motorway and I'll end up on the evening news?

That won't happen because you don't go above 70 do you?

Should be fine it would need to go over 8mm deep to even be near the tyre plies(on a new tyre).

It's not gone deeper than the wearable volume of the tread?

If it ain't leaking; ignore. If it is; tough luck, it's outside the repairable portion.

If it's not cut through to the cords, and whatever made the cut isn't wedged in then it'll be fine.

Worst I've got Continental Sportcontact 3s ever

I've seen worse pass MOT's so I'd just keep an eye on it..
