Hello all!, well currently got a cx 400w and I am seeing a gtx 465 for 130 pounds would this be able to run it or will I have to spend the monies to upgrade the psu

I heard hat it is possible to run but I personally would upgrade the psu because I'm pretty sure that that's not much

If that's a top quality power supply which can truely supply 400W then it should squeeze by. If it's a duffer though, or aging I doubt it will supply enough juice.

You'd be far better off getting a Geforce GTX460 with 786Mb RAM. They use far less power in idle and under load and aren't any slower. Cheaper too.

hmmmmm going to be back to the benchmarks for me I suppose, I saw one of the PNY gtx's 465 and heard that they may unlock to a gtx 470 but on a corsair 400w that would be asking a bit too much, more about gtx 465 vs gtx 460 768mb now, opinions?

Yeah we've seen people do that before in the graphics forum. However what you have to consider is if you were able to unlock your GTX465 to a GTX470, that would exacerbate your power problem even more.

Go with a GTX460 768Mb :)
