could someone help me with this new rapidshare ? :s

ive created an account after choosing 500 rapids option, ive logged in etc and it says i got 5 rapids left :s can someone explain ? also says i got 148 292 MB traffic left. does this mean thats where my rapids have gone ?
 
I haven't understood rapidshare since they removed the simple "5GB a day, upto 25GB available, or you purchase bandwidth at 100GB pieces"

I paid for a premium account a while back, and I just whack links in now and it works, God knows what package it's on.

i've also got http://www.mydownloader.net/ it works great most of the time, cant complain for the price :)
 
Not answering the question per say, but have you thought about going for newgroups for your linux distro's instead?

Seems to be a lot more out there, things get put up quicker, and as long as you go for a good provider you can get oooold stuff, and nothing gets taken down.
 
I think you have to press a button in the control panel... Something like 'convert rapids' or 'buy download traffic'. Or something. Either that or you gotta wait for the purchase to go through.

New RS sucks :( I moved to hotfile but the speed isn't as good.

I would be interested to learn more about the site for these linux distro's, as I have found many a site, which takes a long time to get the new updates :( :p
 
I was a little confused but for roughly a fiver Ive been able to extend my traffic and expiry for something like three months. Has worked out great for me :D.
 
how do you download files instantly from rapidshare like you used to ? like literally paste in the link in the address bar and it open the save as box, cos it dosent seem to do it anymore always takes me to the page, hmm, this is a right farce tbh.

I use http://www.nzbs.org/ now, I used to use https://www.newzbin.com/, but it's been taken over and since then I haven't renewed my sub, it's really cheap at Christmas so I may try again then.

Anything else I google for with the word "nzb", a few other sites pop consistently, and the odd blog/forum post for random things.

You buy a subscription, I use Astraweb (that's a discount link, not available from the home page, save $4 a month).
You get given a username and password (well, you choose them), and then download a program in order to download the end files, I use Grabit.
Then you download NZB files from one of the sites I linked above, and the program will take care of the rest.

Very simple way of looking at it there, there are more advanced techniques but I still don't really understand them :p

It's very similar to torrents tbh, but you can use SSL so it's completely encrypted, it doesn't require any uploading as it's all from servers not other users, and you will always be able to ma out your connection.
