PS3 "Classics HD" line - GOW & Sly Cooper so far

NBA JAM TE HD please. :D

I have been itching to play an arcade perfect version of MKII for years (since I first played it in arcades in Quasar) and I will get it for sure.

I don't know if it's just me but if Sony just released the better PS1 and PS2 games on PSN for a small amount, maybe £2.99 then they would sell by the truck-load. It doesn't benefit Sony at all if you source a PS1 game from ebay or your loft. When I saw the original Tomb Raider on PSN, I was tempted to buy it but for £7.99 it's a lot of money for what it is.

Come on, get them on there. If PS1 games run on a PS3 from the original disc, how much work would be involved with sticking it on PSN for three quid. Money for nothing. I bet most PS1 games are <300 mb. Some free hosted patches are bigger than that! I know Everybody's Golf is and it's there for free anytime I like.

I know that PS1 games are compatable with the PS3 and PS2 games with the 60gb PS3 but we all have these decent sized HDDs now so host them.

Also rumored are Splinter Cell Trilogy and Tom Clancy's Trilogy (Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six)

Excellent I hope both the Prince of Persia and MK trilogy are confirmed. I'll be buying both along with the Sly Collection.

The wii might have sold more, x360 has better online service but sony do seem to be getting a lot of things right. Im all for remakes as long as they are as good as the job done on gow

I'm sure that the Mortal Kombat HD collection could easily fit on a standard DVD disc and hence could also be out for the Xbox 360, but when it comes to that Prince of Persia trilogy collection, Sony's advantage of the Blu-Ray format for the PS3 would win the biggest points there as it allowed that to be possible.

How does the blu ray/dvd debate relate to my post. I was only stating that sony have been getting things right for sometime now:confused:

I'd like to see Medievil remade in HD. I remember them being great fun and quite funny as well.
Also the Maximo games but they were made by capcom.

Because Prince of Persia and MK are 3rd party titles and not really much to do with Sony but more to do with their respective dev/publisher.

Well because you said that the Wii sold more, and the 360 has better online, it kind of made it looked like the PS3 had nothing.

What I was trying to say is that since the PS3 has Blu-Ray, it is a big advantage Sony can make heavy use of against the other consoles and in this case, the HD remakes and compilations of older games.

With the Blu-Ray disc format, obviously this allows for more stuff to be put on the disc, so here, having a single medium to be able to put more games on it, so it is possible for an entire series, trilogy etc.

This was my failed reply at the part where you said Sony seem to be getting things right, and what I was trying to say or add is, it was right of them to have Blu-Ray technology.

God of War Collection has definately proved this all works, and now we are seeing more compilations coming, Ico and Shadow of the Colossus (Two huge classics) being another set for release next year.

If Sony can get more of their own past generation exclusives, or work better with more Third-party developers for their back catalogues, Konami and Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 for example, then they certainly will be doing a lot of things right. Value for their consumers, that is one thing.

Its good to see them doing this to some top classic games. I'd much rather play them converted properly with trophies than from an emulator or just smoothed without. Seems plenty of others do to!

Tom Clancy's Trilogy (Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six)

:eek::eek::eek:

If they leave the multiplayer of Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six (hopefully Rainbow Six 3) untouched this will be AMAZING. I hope they take off because the original Ghost Recon was fantastic multiplayer wise, netcode was a bit demanding but the gameplay was far more realistic than CoD, it truly took skill and you had to really take steady shots, especially if you intended on them beefy long range kills. Probably one of the few FPS on console without aim assist. I'm talking about the Xbox version.

No problem, agree on the blu ray side of things. Shadow of the Colossus is going to be great in hd, hope it doesn't lose the 'feel' the game had.

I hope its the original ps1 rainbow six or the xbox version like you mentioned

I've just wet myself. The Prince of Persia trilogy HD on PS3 is real and coming 19th November!

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2010-10-06-pop-trilogy-an-eu-ps3-exclusive

The long-rumoured Prince of Persia Trilogy is a PlayStation 3 exclusive and will only be released in Europe, Ubisoft has announced.

The collection brings together PlayStation 2 games Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, Prince of Persia Warrior Within and Prince of Persia The Two Thrones on a single Blu-ray disc.

The games are the same, but with fully remastered 720p high definition graphics and stereoscopic 3D output.

There are new textures, normal maps and anti-aliasing to sink your eyeballs into.

It'll be released on 19th November with an RRP of £29.99. Ubisoft reckons you're getting a total of over 30 hours of gameplay for your money.

I'm surprised people are so excited about PoP, I always thought they were pretty average games

Still, I suppose they give people the chance to play them that hadn't before, like me with GoW Collection.

You were wrong :p - the first one definitely wasnt (for the time) and not many average games get turned into a film really...

ps3ud0
