Fermi mid-life kicker comes in 40nm

Agreed but I'm assuming Ravenger meant he already owns a 460 and this news means he should be able to pick up another one for cheap?

Even so, I would still prefer to sell my current 460 and get a 480 new or used that will likely also be reduced in price, or even better a 6850 or something in that ballpark...

"We have them surrounded in their tanks"

LOL I remember him from some program on bbc 3, one of those 100 greatest blah blah

I agree, a single card solution is more desirable than an SLI/Crossfire solution, but if the 460's drop in price enough I might well buy another just to go SLI for the heck of it.

Yes. Considering they were 6 months late with Fermi in the first place, that's exactly what I'd expect. Any "updated" 460s, 470s and 485s aren't going to be able to compete with the 6 series if the current leaks are right.

well as i said Nvidia will TRY to combat the 6000 series. i certainly don't think they will have anything to match up to the higher end AMD products but there might be a little wiggle room down nearer the lower end, but it will all depend on AMD's pricing.

Sorry to sound like an idiot, but i musta been on holiday for abit, but what is this Fermi i keep hearing about? It sounds like something big, like HL2 Episode 3, that will just never be released.

over ambitious poorly implemented card or one of those two, i am not quite sure as there is so much spin out there
