They are used to scare off animals... They are not in uniform walking around with rifles and a cigar.

Sounds a bit weird for us, but I can understand it really.

Monkeys are the most intelligent animals around, higher than dolphins or dogs. If in that environment they're able to keep out other wild animals which could potentially be a risk for humans then I'm all for this.
