Is there much difference between the various 470s on the market, around the £220-£250 price ?

Any to be recommended over the others ? Won't be attaching a third party cooler, system is under air (Antec 1200 or a Silverstone FT02B-W) and will be overclocking it.

in theory no difference

however anecdotal research by myself (both the best, and WORST kind of research) shows MSI cards generally do better at overclocking if you are into that

My Asus would only do 750 core, my MSI does 800 core, though on 775 atm till I get watercooling on it.

Whether they extra chokes on the MSI lead to more core voltage stability is not provable however i'll take any free parts coming my way:)

Bugger !

Was just about to throw in an order for an Asus.

MSI it is. One reviewer said it's loud, but that doesn't bother me, tbh.

Many thanks ;)

That's normal variation for even cards of the same manufacturer though. I'd just get what you want and think is the best deal, to be honest.

Exactly. over the years I have had golden and dong cards. It's pot luck on overclocking IMO.

So price, warranty and cooler type should be your choice criteria.

like I said my research methodology is shoddy, without ethical approval:)
I realise it's within random distribution of GPUs

POVs seem to be getting the highest clocks atm (same story here as Greebo 850 stable on my POV 470), tho no guarantees - I'd still probably reccomend MSI or Gigabyte to most people.

The only cards that are really different are the Gigabyte SoC the rest are pretty much same thing with a different badge and luck of the draw what kinda quality the cores are.
