Credit Checks?

Suprirse suprise that it should be somebody who has shown no other interest in the thread popping in to start a fight :)

You gonna help the OP or are you just here for me?

18 month contract including 99.00 for the phone = £909.

Simfree phone, sim only 12 month contract = £800.

Simfree does seem the better deal, and it is easier to get a sim only contract, but like any contract there are credit checks.

Where are you getting these prices? You can buy the iPhone 4 PAYG for £450ish?

There is no need to spend almost a grand on a mobile phone!?

From O2. Yeah but, it's over 12 months. It's a lot of money, no denying that, but I won't stay jobless for ever.

EDIT: The reason I don't want PAYG, as I need to ring people on different networks/landlines/texing different networks. And topping up over £30/month on some occasions isn't what I want. I rather have the minutes there, unlimited texts/net to go with.

Why would you want to pay another £400 more to be with o2?

You can buy a PAYG iPhone4 for £495 on o2 even?

I dont understand how you get to £800?

Seriously, 800 quid on a phone? Really? For anyone thats a lot, for somebody who doesnt earn its a huge amount! Its just a phone. It's just.. a phone you can get elsewhere for half the price anyway?

Sim free the phone costs £500. That's sim free, not PAYG. 12 Month simplicity sim from o2 at £25/month for 12 months is £300 in total. £500+300 = £800.

EDIT: So £800 for the phone over a 12month period. I was spending up to £40/50 month, on PAYG. And that's been over 2 years. Including the phone at £360. What would you advise me to do Fox? Leave it and do the sensible thing, get a job then buy?

You can do way better than £25 a month for a SIM free deal! I'd want a phone as well for £25 a month!

I've looked, but guess I haven't hard enough.

If you want to go SIM only look around at the cashback sites (quidco, topcashback, etc...) you could get £90 back if you take a 12 month SIM.
