what would you like to see in the next windows

multi monitor support, something like spaces

Allow merge of all tabs into one window.

Safari has it and its so handy.

I would like also have Every app take less pixels up the tabs on Office & start bar on W7 take up to much space give me my pixels back as default! we not all 90 year old grannys :(

Proper Ability to change settings without having to hunt thru the registry for them

The ability to copy files without it taking an age

Linux style location bars in explorer , the new ones are utter gash since vista

Windows Update being open-up to third party applications so we can update everything (CCleaner, Firefox, Adobe, Flash) in one easy step :).

I think the windows 8 app store (or whatever u want to call it) will be just like that, everything under 1 program/window and should come with automatic updating like app's on the ios already do.

A proper multi-monitor taskbar and general multi-mon support that includes at least all the features that Ultramon has.

The registry is pretty good. Efficient too since it doesn't matter how many entries there are, there is pretty much no performance cost.

The only time the registry has let me down is when crap software screws with it.

What would people rather have? A safe incremental step like Windows 7, or something that breaks the back of a few problems but runs the risk of being another Vista?

An Explorer process that is capable of surviving a slow network drive or an unexpected response. Also if it could respond to a Sharepoint WebDAV folder without crashing the entire system every other attempt that would be an improvement.

Plus as others have said, better multi-monitor support, ditch the registry, and more isolation of app installs so they don't install in 80 different places.
