Canada is a nice track to race around....

just scored my first points with lotus at kuala lumper, started 12th and came home in 8th. I waited till the last two laps till I pitted, and that got around this stupid pit system... Came in and I was out again very quickly and rejoined in 9th but Kubica spin right in front of me, so I got an easy 8th out of that..

current racing at Shanghai and its a very boring track - just completed the R & D and I get new bits and upgrades as I'm well outpacing truli.

Bugs aside game is quite addictive for some strange reason.. lol
 
Not touching this until I'm done with DR2 but I've treated myself to a Fanatec Turbo S wheel to go with this, going to get a wheelstand pro next month as well, so I'm looking forward to trying this and FM3/GT5 out with my new setup! F1 is still sat on my shelf until it all arrives!
 
can any 350 owners advise me on somewhere to purchase an official XBOX 360 Wheel and Pedals because I cant find them and they are going for £100+ on a well known auction site. :/

They are discontinued, you can possibly still order them in to your local "famous catalogue shop" as they seem to have some left at a warehouse somewhere

Where did you buy the wheel from ?? The fanatec website doesn't list them ??

In some highstreet gaming shops, I've seen them, £80 with some Codemasters game, that was on the weekend, so I think trawling the shops might be in order.

They've just sold out, no more for Europe!, such a shame!

I prey MS persuade Fanatec to make a Carrera wheel that would be 360/cross platform, get that right at £150 for the wheel/pedals etc, it'd sell like hotcakes..
 
How do you get R+D ? did my first race last night and managed the fastest time in practice ... but didnt put in a lot of laps ?

Am i doing something wrong :P ?
 
The new Mad Catz wheel has appeared in stores over the last couple of days for £100. The Fanatecs appear on eBay every now and again but they are going for near if not slightly more than retail.

Glad I bought mine when I did and the clubsport pedals are superb

I have only done 3 GP's, and only was offered R&D in practice at Melbourne, The other 2 GP's, Bahrain and Kuala Lumpur, I wasn't given any objectives..

Your engineer will tell you if there's some to do, you then have to select it from the engineers menu in practice. You don't get them every race.

Once you've selected it, it'll tell you what time to beat (usually easy enough).

On Silverstone atm and tbh its a dog of a track to drive with lotus don't think i can pull anything out of the bag!

Monaco - Came 2nd - again was a dog of a race raning too

They need to do some work on the weather and grip levels, it's poor. Just had a race where everyone was on slicks and it was pouring. I couldn't see the car behind me due to spray and as I had a late pitstop I change to inters. It made no difference to my laptimes in comparison to the AI, they were still going flat out on slicks. Intermediate conditions are poor for realistic grip levels. Unless it's full on pouring the whole session you may as well just stay on what you have on.
 
I completed my R&D 3 times in practice and yet I still didn't get the upgrade. it just disappears from the menu.

Even in the next GP in was not applied.
 
Any tips on playing this with the 360 Wheel?
Its like mission impossible with the wheel, constant spinning out, etc.
I tried it with the controller last night, its night and day, I can be really competitive.
Are there tweaks to be made, to make the wheel a real contender?
 
Hmm, my 360 wheel is fantastic.....handles superbly.

There are some options in the "My F1" menu to change wheel settings I believe.

i did a race were it looked like it wasnt raining so i stuck on slicks, engineer said i think we should go with inters here, i thought "**** that i know what im doing" :p. turns out it was raining everyone bar me on inters, the slight bend on the valencia start/finish straight i went straight on, no grip at all. but when your on inters the lap times arnt as different as they are in real life, maybe 1-2 seconds slower per lap in game from dry to inter weather.
