Nice audio test on the BBC

The day that I cannot control my PC connected to my separates via my Android phone is going to be a very sad day indeed :p

Warm analogue outputs for the win \m/

I dont own a CD player anymore! (kids each have a little mini hi-fi with them to be fair)

All my music is ripped in ALAC and streamed around the house - main setup is half decent but amp is an AV one (yammy 2700 so relatively musical for AV)

The point OP is making, i hope, is that music is there to be enjoyed and even can be via an ipod dock! Most of my listening is on a single speaker stereo and while the living room setup sounds miles better its still enjoyable listening in the dining room - even better now that spotify is on it at 320kb.

1 speaker?!

The point of the BBC video was to show that musicality is being lost with cheap docks and speakers, the gear they had as the 2nd hand kit may be cheap and used but the quality was very high and those listeners said the sound was warmer and crisper - something you don't' get with docks!

I suppose it's fine for radio, streaming and podcasts and whatnot but for serious listening nobody is going to want to sit down for a session in front of cheap docks :p

I dont see why not, my S5 is a posh dock and i spend hours listening to it - is it as good as my Quad 21L + Yammy? of course not!

Does it prevent you listening to and enjoying music - hell no!

Listening to it ??? , or just having it on playing for hours in the back ground or while your doing something else ?

I hear the music 9 :p

But i guess its mostly having it on while im surfing etc but but but before you say it - it means i am spending more time listening to music than i would otherwise do!
