Are Saab then going to offer a DLC for the additional 2 cylinders then ? :p

There is only so many naff products you can shift through marketing, mind.

With a BMW engine and Saab build quality it will be a world beater ;)

No, it would be pointless, as most of the time when we have a 'Why bother a 9-5' thread it comes down to the one thing a Saab does well - turbocharged shove. With a BMW engine in there thats gone you may as well just buy the BMW ;)

Yea but then you wont have the Saab jet fighter cockpit :)

But SAAB for some reason still have a fan base and are still considered "good cars" by the general public so I think with the extra marketing of "there's a bimmer engine inside" they could do quite well, especially if Spyker add some of their styling to SAAB aerodynamicness.

SAAB have never made their own engines from scratch. They have had speedboat engines, Lancia engines, Ford engines, Triumph/Ricardo engines, FIAT group engines and GM engines. BMW is just another engine supplier.

The genius in SAAB is that they appeal to a certain type of person. They want something different and they can afford to pay for it.

A Saab 9-3 is neither something different nor particularly expensive.

Yes it is

Its a expensive vauxhall vectra ;)

and its different because its not got a german badge on the bonnet. To the sort of people who buy Saabs new, this is important.
