Lo all,
A colleague at work's has a Toyota Corolla (04 I think) which died the other day. It's gone back to the dealer and they say it's got serious engine issues. Unfortunately I don't have any more details other than that they say it's going to cost £500 to diagnose the problem properly as it requires half the engine to be removed and they predict that the total repair bill is going to be close to £3,000.
There's no warranty left and according to my colleague the car isn't worth that much so she doesn't know what to do.
I've not been in this situation before so I don't really know what the options are. I'm assuming she either tries to sell it with the problem or scraps the car.
What's the usual procedure?
