Hi

I have now obtained a cooler operating tempreture currently around the 25c mark with air cooling - on original clock @2.0Ghz

i have an asus p5nmx motherboard and 4gb ram. currently at 400mhz frequency.. i wouldn't mind overclocking but cant as when i try to change the CPU clock speed in the bios it is grayed out?

I have unlinked the memory and is running at 800mhz

what i would like to simply change is the CPU speed.

can anyone tell me how? someone suggested BSEL mod but.. if i mess things up with the ink pen i will be without a computer for a while...

if this can be done in the bios then how please

Regards

Rob :)

In the BIOS to "ungray" or enable FSB overclocking you should see something like :

CPU clock control: enable/disable

It might not be called CPU clock control but something like that.

EDIT: On your Advance tab, you should have a Jumper Free option from there you can do overclock, enable/disable stuff etc

What motherboard do you have?
p5nmx

Thanks guys

I have managed to overclock the memory QDR and actual DDR (in the bios) upto 1666.3mhz but then when booting up,nothing happens, reset button, comes up,gets to"system boot interuppted " press F1 to continue - pressed it - CPUZ still states that clock speed is 800mhz.

I will try your answer Thank you :)
