Lotus have a new direction...

Elan is what the Evora should have been. Esprit and Elite (there are front photos available now) looks fab. Elise and Eterne are a bit meh.

Having seen these in the flesh plenty of times in the last few months the Elise has always been my favorite. Pictures there don't really do it justice though.

Off to watch a bigscreen streaming of the official unveiling a little later on (will be live on the Lotus website at 4 if anyone else is interested)

They look good. Not very distinctive, but good.

Now, why would I buy a Lotus over the other marques making similar cars?

They used to be reasonably cheap, lightweight, good fun and different. Now, with these on the horizon, it's looking unlikely that they'll keep much of the Lotus philosophy.

Better buy one of the current generation fast before they ruin them.

The webcast did nothing to quell my fears for the future of the company.

I'll take mine in BRG please

So long as they still drive like Lotuses I'm all for this new direction.

Except for the Elite, which seems to be a California rival. I don't don't like that either :p

Lotuses shouldn't have folding hard tops IMO
