3DS info from Nintendo Conference

OMG looks awesome. MGS YES PLEASE

Also killboy your so right dude, the graphics is crap and 3d screens are totally old tech, i mean there on every device now init......ermmm no. seriously OLD tech? how exactly, the graphics are clearly around gamecube standard, the screen is 3d and the device is tiny.

Also i will bet you all 5 quid that the 'Dock' is a wireless powermat like charger.

never said the graphics were crap there ok nothing that a PSP can do without 3D (Resident Evil: Mercenaries shots dont look hot at all), I said the graphics CHIP is OLD which it is (nothing is know about the CPU but I will presume its ARM based).

If it was £150-170, ie not much more than a DSI/XL and I knew the 3d was going to work for sure, then I be far less sceptical , I of course will keep my final judgement till I play with one myself as "3D" didn't work at all for me in cinema.

If you want better quality go to the Nintendo site, but even from that you can’t say they are psp levels.

That said Mercenaries is a port of RE5, Revelations is built up from the ground for the 3DS

I was under the impression that this isn't just one of the incremental updates ie DS > DS Lite > DSi > DSi XL

This is a brand new console which only shares the name DS with any of the other consoles and has brand new hardware inside it, I read it was using a Tegra chip.

Something got leaked to IGN the other day, suggesting it has two ARM processors. Besides, I don't think anyone has ever bought Nintendo consoles on the promise of the hardware, so who cares.

It's a completely different 3D technology to the one used in the cinema, but if you're expecting miracles then obviously you'll be disappointed.

It's going to cost around £225-£250 so £239.99 is my estimation.

Looking at the exchange rates, that's actually not a bad guess, though I hope it will be lower.

The original DS launched in Japan in December 2004 for 15,000 Yen. It launched in the UK in March 2004 for £99. It would have cost £75 if they did a straight switch from Yen to GBP at the exchange rate at the time, so you're adding on a third, basically.

If the 3DS launches in Japan in February 2011 for 25,000 Yen, then - assuming the exchange rate remains as it is now - the equivalent in GBP would be £188. Add on the third again and you get £250ish.

I'm going for around the £200 mark.

It's looking very nice, I'm glad I held on to my original launch DS, I was tempted by the Lite and DSi but this looks like it could be such a good upgrade and well worth the wait.

Glad it doesn't have a stupid overpowered GPU.

It's portable gaming, so I expect 6 hours plus battery life.

The problem I have with my DSi is that leaving Wifi on drains the battery. so with all of these wireless features on all the time I think it's going to drop the battery consumption by around 15-20%.

I need atleast a good 12 hours of charge to consider the battery decent, anything lower and I start to get annoyed. I bought the original PSP and was really dissapointed with the batterylife.

Check out this cool article, really impressed with MGS and SF and of course Mario Kart looks great too. Can't wait to play OOT and admire the subtle upgrades too.

It does look very impressive. I've avoided playing OoT pretty much since the N64 release, but I'd be very tempted to play it on the 3DS. SF would also be awesome to have handheld.

I haven't been interested in anything Nintendo for years, however, this looks awesome and I'll be pre-ordering for sure.

Does anyone feel like the second screen is becoming somewhat superfluous? Barely any of those videos showed it in use, and I rarely find it useful (obviously aside from the touch aspect) in games. Would it not make more sense to have one larger screen? I guess one issue with that is that the 3d screens may not, yet, have the tech to use touch input, but if this can be worked around I'd rather just have the one screen.

Anyway, I've been sold on OOT, Pilotwings, and Snake Eater. Think I'll be picking one up when I see some reviews.

I will pay £200. I paid a lot more than that for my jap import psp... At the end of the day i love my DSi XL. Its great fun on a journey, its great fun in my lunch break and its great when i have the tv on and nothing else to do.. Those games especially RE make me happy.. :)

While its not as good as RE or MGS starfox is looking pretty good, when i 1st seen the screenys from E3 i didnt think they had done much to it, its looking like a nice upgrade.
