M5 worth buying

I did that last time. I ended up with an absolutely immaculate car with no satnav and the worlds most boring interior colour combination. I love the car but feel pangs of envy every time I see a better specified example with a better interior colour, and tell myself that next time, I'll have the 'whoa, thats awesome!' interior.

But when i see your car i think whoa, not just because of the condition, but because i think they are the good colours.

As for nav, im not sure why you didnt fit that yourself, but you could have.

Anyway you have got good discipline so you will probably get the perfect car next time round, all im saying is that when the right car perfect in every way except black leather again happens, grab it, because a bird in the hand is worth 5 in the bush i think.

Because it's £1200 worth of stuff. Which in itself is not the problem, but on the E39 the date and time is stored in the high onboard instrument cluster in navigation fitted cars. So unless you also retrofit a new instrument cluster, you get no date and time on the nav.

Yea, you just watch a 'my new car' thread proudly announcing my new silver 330i M Sport with black leather instead of a blue 335i with beige leather, it'll be just my luck :p

But better you get the silver black minter in 3 months than the half and half blue in 12 months when your sick of looking.

Then start the "i just spent 1900 quid on my new blue 335 " thread :)

and the E46 M3

now starting to show its age a bit

That's not an e46 M3.

THAT is E39 M5 perfection. If Robbie G can't see the added appeal of that car over the one in this thread, then I give up :p

That looks just as dated as the one in the OP. :p But one must remember that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. So what is likelihood of your perfection ever turning up for sale?

Oh it looks no less dated, why would it, but its such a great colour combo.

It's a BMW Individual only colour. I've only seen 2 of them for sale, one was £16k and the other wasn't a nice one.

I think a point Fox has been trying to make is that the time for him to buy a e39 M5 has come and gone.

If he could afford to run loads of cars in 5 years time then maybe he'd get one, but to own one as his only car is unlikely to ever happen as it still has all the 'failings' of his current car (no modern tech, old, cost a lot to run and repair).

Understandable really, the dream has come and gone and apart from major financial change it's unlikely to ever happen.

Must say that one he linked to looks 100x better than any other M5 I've seen, the leather and colour combo looks amazing.

Not liking that at all MrLOL, looks weird without a front numberplate, black grilles/mirrors, the tintz and the yellow calipers. Not even keen on the BBS wheels which is a first.

I prefer the 'look' of Nick's car by miles, of course if given the choice I'd take the E92 and turn it back into a standard car. ;)

Standard ? How boring !

If that was a little OTT for you how about this :

Its a pre LCI M3, with the LCI rear lights retrofitted, aftermarket suspension to drop it a bit, Competition Pack wheels, and the BMW Performance rear spoiler.

As much as i love the E46 M3, my favourite ones:

I definately prefer the E9X m3.
