His last vehicle was an Escort van with alloys...and he pestered me because he thought that wasn't fast enough...
 
Now you have fully explained the situation, he did sound a bit insensitive and definitely rude - if he was interrupting the girls while they were talking.

Still, you're only making it worse by being wound up by him. And even worserer.... uhm.. yeah... by letting GD get to you too! :)

Ye I can see where you are coming from, along with the extra information you posted. Hope I didnt wind you up too much, you just came across very self-righteous in your op as there wasnt any info about y you felt he was wrong. If its cos he genuinely dont care then give him a slap from me.

My family are doing okay thanks, eldest son just left school with good grades, youngest son is expected to do even better and is working a couple of years ahead of himself. Me and the missus have had our ups and downs but who doesn't...can you remember the tale of how much chnage your dad left on your mothers bedside table when he'd finished?

Apologies from me as well mate, its not very often i post in GD, especially about something like this. He just wound me up so much, these people are friends, hes just *insert various expletives here*. Gonna help them out though, they need a car storing until its sold, his old van and bits and bobs scraping, i can do that so i will...really gonna miss talking to the guy while he explains whats hes broke on his car this time while trying to fix it!.
