Word 2003 - Everything in Roman Numerals - Help?

Trying to help a friend format a dissertation.

Somehow, she has altered the document so that everything is in roman numerals rather than arabic. And I mean everything, even the little yellow tooltip when you scroll down a page is in roman numerals.

I've no idea how she has done this and I can't see how to change it back.

Help? pls

Look in File/Options/Language for default language settings and also look at Home/Change Styles for changing fonts, etc., back to your preferred settings.
