Office Build

Hi looking for two pc's to go in the office at work, I build all my pc's but haven't dabbled in a while so looking for advice with components for my budget of around £300 - £400 per machine.

The pc's will be need for general web browsing, MS office work, occasional Dreamweaver and photo shop use. No gaming

Need everything except Monitors, Operating system, Mouse and Keyboard.

Thanks in advance.

Argon Intel Core i3 2.93GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle seems a good deal what would be better choice out of the above mentioned or overclockers today only deal?

The overclocked i3 would perform better, and in any other case I would choose that. However, for an office machine, I would go with something which has less chance of failing. (OC could fail, etc).

If you think it could do with a bit more performance then go for the Athlon Tri or Quad core.

i3 overclocked bundle is only a few quid more than the respective individual components from my build put together, though I do wonder why you would need an overclock to 4GHz for office type work, and it could also become unstable potentially.
Just my 2 pence.

True - Wont really need a overclock for office just had ideas running through my head.
How would the Intel I3 build perform compared to the first listed build above?

Well the CPU is the only thing to differentiate the builds really. Both are dual cores, however the i3 can have 4 threads and has more cache, giving it the edge.

Works a treat with the mobo I spec'd and if you did fancy overclocking it for any reason, it does it pretty easily. Its also newer architechture, so a bit more up to date in todays world.

If you did want to go AMD though, the AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 640 3.00GHz (Socket AM3) wouldn't be a bad choice at all.

going to order soon...

Just wondered if I could get a quick update on the latest spec regarding the the office builds - Anything new? Or any offers recommended?

Only changes I would make would be the:

CPU: for a quad or tri core if more multi tasking is required.
Harddrive: Samsung F3. Personal choice and experience.

As is looks good to me.

Get Superweza build from 2nd post just swap the CPU for x3 445 for a tenner extra and you're set.

I'll also consider quieter cooler if you're going to work all day with it unless it doesn't bother you then fine.

What cooler you suggest? It's goin in a office next door to a busy workshop so not allways that quiet there anyway.
