Internet in the USA to get blacklisted

Not sure if this will successfully make its way through congress but is it a sign of things to come? Other countries already have such measures (Like China), but I never thought Western countries would try and follow suit.

If it happens in America, you can be sure someone will want it over here too....

Yea the IWF blcaklist blocks content on most (all?) ISPs.

I'd suspect they'd start with legitimate claims of things to block, and then once they're able to do so, use it as a method of control.

There is no way they can stop it, they can make it "illegal" to do certain things but there is simply no way to physically block access without taking over every single international connection in/out the country.

Whilst a 100% safe system is difficult a simple system of making all ISPs use a given blocklist would work for 99% of the UK's net users who don't have the knowledge to get round it.

So obvious that the government use these measures for control, they hate the internet because they no longer have full control over what every citizen sees and hears, unlike the TV and radio days. They'll keep locking down the internet, slowly, site by site, new law by new law, until the next generation can't even remember a "free" internet.
