TF2: The MANN-conomy Update

Forgot ages ago I listed my scout hat for trade on tf2items.com for this heroic piece of head wear, then some guy pm'd me about it on steam today. Success.

(and missing hand models, go valve!)

And as for immune to head shots, I imagine it just removes the crit when they get shot in the head, not all damage. So what if you can't headshot them, they can't headshot you, just shoot them normally. Not like they're a heavy with a ton of hp.

Once again, Valve release a TF2 update and the community decides its the worst thing ever and that they are going to stop playing the game because of it.

Seriously? I mean, for one thing, Valve have already sold you the game, they have your money, I'm not sure how not playing the game will bother them. Secondly, if all the people who said they were quitting did, there wouldn't be anyone left playing the game :p

Just more drama from the tf2 community :p

Though some of the prices are somewhat steep, but if people are willing to pay for them...
 
Ever since the update, Ive been getting disconnected, with this message;

Anyone have any idea how to rectify it? Had a google and look around for info, nothing comes up that points me in the right direction.

Start the game, open the console (` key, if that doesn't work go into options, on the keyboard page hit advanced, and make sure the 'enable developer console' option is ticked). In the console, start to type in mat_depthbias_shadowmap
It should give you three autocomplete options, one will be the shadowmap one, and afterwards it will show what it is set to, which won't be 0.0005. Just set it to that value by entering:
mat_depthbias_shadowmap 0.0005
In the console.

Because it's just an alternative means of getting things. Everything (except 1 item) can be obtained through drops, achievements and crafting. It's for people who don't play the game every day and want new weapons that they wouldn't be able to get otherwise.

It's also to stop people abusing the trading system and start selling things that way, if Valve has a store at least they can put a price on things and control their own content.

I don't see what the problem is, if people want to pay for items which can be attained through just playing the game then let them.

On a side note, I think I'll be putting a little extra effort into my Heavy items idea if it's going to result in some money :D

Thanks for the quick reply, however the only auto-complete things that pop up are;

mat_depthbias_decal -262144
mat_depthbias_normal 0.0f

Typing mat_depthbias_shadowmap returns the error; 'Unknown Command'. I did forget to mention Im using a Mac :o Not technically in the right forum, but seemed like a generic setting/command so I thought Id put in in here :>

The problem is that they are essential to competitive play and you will have to own them too to get the edge. It forces you into buying them .
 
jesus how to ruin a good game.

So this is the future of valve micro transactions!

The had made this game consistently worse since the stupid hat update, I for one would never of bought it if I knew it would end up like this.


game was perfection on release.
