just been over to set up a new laptop for my mother and was told by my little brother that he could get round any firewall/family/parental control issues if he really wanted too.

I said ok go on prove it. he produced this website... www.you.derp.us ive never heard of an air proxy before, he now says that the year 11's at school have taught them all about them. He even showed me he knew my facebook log in as there are password crunching websites out there that produce passwords by putting names in it.

quite angry that he's got involved in all this...what next online bank robbery??

Your brother is 13 and only just worked out how to use a proxy?
What teenage boy in secondary school hasn't or doesn't use a proxy to play flash games and go on facebook at school?

Hack his Facebook and e-mail and see how he likes it, if he tries getting smart with you suplex him.

set the firewall box / router to force his IP onto a white list of only specific sites ? If he's gonna act like a child, treat him like a child ...

PHProxy was all the rage when I was at school.. IT teacher wasn't too impressed. They tried to block them, so I just set my own up editing the line of text they were blocking on the pages.

what about using opendns, pretty sure they have a 'whitelist' option and then set up all pc's to go through their dns servers

lol nothing new about these proxies.

Secondary school proxies got blocked every day, so people searched for new ones every day to play flash games ^^ good times.

sorry but you sound like a horrible brother. at least he's not playing gta on his xbox as what that would teach him would be even worse! or playing mass effect as heaven forbid he'd see alien porn!!!

he's at school and is learning a new skill. this'll hopefully get his interest in fixing and solving problems and kick start an interest in something new. how horrible are you to try and stop that because he gets around a school proxy. i'd hate to have someone like you on my family, i had to double check to make sure you said you are his brother and not his owner.

Actually lol from looking they are all on port 82, surely its possible to block that?

any decent firewall should be able to yeah.

he's got a point. His brother is far too young to be able to draw the line between ethical and non ethical hacking.

Yes kids have always used proxies to get round internet restrictions at school. But if he's hacking facebook accounts as well. What next, hacking the teachers facebook accounts, what does he do with said hacked facebook accounts etc..

At 13 he's too young to be able to properly know where to draw the line, he's only just passed the age of criminal responsibility.
