I have a 360 Reach Edition console, and when playing a lot of games - especially Reach - it seems to slow down a lot (Frames per second wise).

In the first mission on Halo Reach, for example, there is a lot of random stutter and fps drops when fighting the covenant, or when smoke is on the screen, and especially when zoomed in with a sniper rifle. I read a detailed analysis of how the game manages to keep reasonable fps (25-30) in fire fights, but my fps - from an avid pc gamers point of view - is definitely dropping into the 10-20 range at some points. Is this just Halo Reach, or my perception of a console? I swear my 360 must be borked or sommat. Wish there was a way to test, haha!

Sometimes devs just over stretch the abilities of either the machine or their programming skills which may lead to things such as slow down/screen tear etc. Many 360/ps3 games only run at 30FPS so any slow down is more noticable than say a PC game runnung at 60FPS+. Have heard of frame rate probs on HR perhaps trying a game that is known to have rock solid framerate, something like Modern Warfare 2 runs at 60FPS and i dont think it has any issues with frame rate.

would be no better

you'd have to go to a PC :)

to be honest I prefer less graphics and smoother gameplay ... for instance MW2 feels very smooth - in my opinion - compared to Halo Reach - and I'm sure its because of the 60 vs 30fps

same as I preferred PGR3 over 4, 4 felt sluggish vs 3 because of its 30fps
