Most pointless facts EVER!

More people in the UK die every year from bee stings than MDMA (methylenedioxymethamphetamine, the active ingredient in ecstacy) overdose.

Ban the Bee.

If you take any volume of water, say 500ml, there are a greater number of molecules of water in that volume than there are repetitions of that volume in all the world's water.

That possibly wasn't explained very well. Perhaps better to say that there are more molecules in a glass of water than there are glasses of that volume of water on the planet.

At a jet plane's speed of 1,000 km (620mi) per hour, the length of the plane becomes one atom shorter than its original length.

Source? *NM googled it. Weird. I'm surprised it's not more actually, as I'd imagine that the plane loses a lot of atoms just from air resistance 'knocking' them off.

Concorde grows in length by about 8 inches in flight.

A lump of gold the size of a matchbox can be beaten flat enough and thin enough to cover a tennis court.
Related to the above gold can be beaten thin enough to be translucent but it helps to block out the suns harmful rays which is why it is used in astronauts visors.
The term Mayday comes from the French venez m'aider - i.e. you come and help me.

If i've understood this right, a 1 yoctolitre glass of water contains more molecules than the amount of yoctolitres in the worlds water?

1 yoctolitre is 10^-24, you did say any amount of water :p

No, I've done it all very, very wrong. There's actually a specific volume of water, which may well be about a glass (250ml).
