Hey guys, just wondering where i can get a reasonable quote for an 04 plate 1 litre Yaris. I got the car cause it was cheap, reliable and in a low insurance band but I cant find a reasonable quote. I am a newly passed having held my license for just 3 months. Any help or tips will be much appreciated.

yea elephant and bell and admiral are quoting me well over 3 grand, i'd prefer something below 2k, its what i can afford. I'm 21 btw, its either this or i'd have to consider fronting

Well dont fall in that hole, get yourself sorted you dont want to start fronting.

3 grand sounds dear for that car, are you in a bad postcode?

Try adding mum and dad as named drivers?

mum can't drive and daddys been long gone, i didnt think itd be that high, otherwise i woulda gotta a much better car. I remember my brother getting his for 1700 quid as a newly passed when he was 19 on a 1.6 astra, why have prices gone up so highly since then.

Are they tryna make it hard to keep fewer drivers on the road

im living in Salford M5 atm and my parent's house is back in London. Postcode aint makin much of a difference on online broker sites though

My first insurance was when I was 17, I had a 1.4 Diesel Citroen Ax (Group 2) and the insurance was £1500 on my mums insurance. :( If you can its best to collect your own NCB for yourself as it will dramatically drop insurance over the next few years. Good insurance company's Ive tried so far have been; Quinn Direct and currently Direct line. best check see what price comparision is like for an average and then go direct to a few others see if you can get something better

Try other people as named drivers, preferably those with responsible jobs. I personally have my sister and her husband (both in the police) on my insurance as named drivers on my car and they cut my insurance premium in half. Also play around with your occupation, there is about £50 difference between titles of essentially the same job.

That helps him as much as my first post did :D

Google moneysupermarket car insurance and see what results you get from filling in that form
