oil of cloves: then ring emergency dentist.
I find your name very apt here.I found the codeine based painkillers prescribed by my dentist to be essentially useless. Ibuprofen seemed to have more effect as did sleep, and keeping warm.
But in the end the only solution is to get it sorted, which for me was a thoroughly miserable experience.
thanks anywy guys and i know that in the end only getting the work done will solve the issue, i just wanted somthing to keep me fairly pain-free for a few more days/weeks depending on how much longer i still need to wait.
How about just asking the dentist for something?
i have seen the dentist and have been waiting ages to go to get work done, as i said. i didnt come here for sympothy lol i just wanted "advice" as i have tried everything i know myself.
i was unaware that medical threads were a no-no but i dont really see this as medical, rather a "spec me a pain killer" lol.

i cant have emergency work done, as i need to be put asleep (dentist told me to, since its ALLOT of work)
thanks again though
she told me cocodamol and salt water rinse...
both do nothing lol
We can't really give you advice RE painkillers as that would be a medical thread then... potential for overdose and death is there.
You can mix some painkillers within their respective stated doses fine but you should refer to a qualified person acting in their professional capacity for that advice rather than someone on the internet
What I will say - don't mix aspirin and ibuprofen, there are others you can mix but again talk to a qualified professional.
theres no chance of sleep with 'proper' toothacheSleep.
