Need a new game!

Hi all, i've been playing the stalker series to death over the last couple of months and have really quite enjoyed it but it didn't grab me like fallout 3 did and with a few weeks until new vagas comes out i'm stuck for what to spend my free time over the coming weeks

so what else is there out there in the style of the above games ie: fps/rpg real world (sort of) or alt future type of thing.... so what else is there? :confused:

Metro 2033? Made by some of the guys who did stalker and is in a similar vein. Only thing is that its a linear game and not open like f3 or the stalker series.

started reading what you put about metro 2033 and sounded perfect right up until you said linear

to be honest it's the non-linear game play i really like the most like in-between quests/missions i can run round an enemy base wiping them out or running round looking for cool stuff to keep or sell

never really like the look of mass effect tbh, not really into flying around but may pop down blockbusters tomorrow to give it a try if there's nothing else, unless i give it to the calling of the capital wasteland

anyway many thanks for the suggestion.

i was looking for something a little more pack-rat friendly i like nothing more that having a full inventory of stuff to play with

and by the look of things this is more of an ability collecting/obtaining style of game, how many hours of game play do you think i could squeeze out of this? also i like to play things from the side of good and evil like in fallout blowing up megaton was a great way to start my evil character :cool:

+1 For Prototype. Its a lot of fun, but it can wear thin. Also (IMO) its best with a game pad.

Mafia II was fun while it lasted also.

Yeah, I tried to take my time but it was over very quickly. And I couldnt be bothered playing again for all the collectables.

yeah got the colectors edition as i loved the first but the second as other have said it's a very short game but did play through again on hard to get the achievements lol

yep me too but i bought it before getting my card, never did get into it really i perfer the old AvP on the Atari Jaguar

hasn't a new tomb raider just been released? i'm sure something about it flashed up on steam the other day

Just cause 2 is loads of fun. Huge world, lots of missions and best of all lots of things to explode.

Yeah it has, but it looks a bit cheap ie one of these £10 jobs on steam.

Roll on Mafia 3 in 5 years time or whatever it will be!

Its not a Tomb Raider game, but rather a Lara Croft spin off (no Tomb Raider in the title). Its played from a different view point (isometric) to the Tomb Raider games and all in all is rather good. I'd recommend it.

Don't be put off by the cartoony graphics, I nearly was but got it cheap and now loving every minute of it!

i have it and i must say the graphics did put me off, it made me think of team fortress instead of call of duty, like TF/borderlands may be loads of fun but not something i could really get into, i will give it a try sometime but not what i'm looking for at this time
