It has the zf box .. is it a known issue Mark ? I know the ecu can be iffy (heater matrix leaks and kills the ecu) but not read anything about other issues

Honestly havent got a clue, but i have always reasoned that 200 quid servicing auto boxes beats 1500 for a recon one.

Think of it this way, you wouldnt leave your engine 10 years and 120k without a service would you.

Soon as i buy an auto, any auto with 60k miles or more i do the box.

Looks lovely inside too by the way, embossed seats too :)

You can get this much car for £900!!

Wow... Not going to be cheap to keep, as everyone said, but my gosh it's gorgeous, a lot of kudos there!

the selespeed boxes the dodgy ones in these?

Well thankfully they never put the sillyspeed in the 166 . But if yer looking at other alfas there best avoided .

And Dogbreath .. yup i feel the same way . Already planning to polybush the suspension (its feeling a little loose) . ordered a new maf .. gonna rewire the centre brakelight with leds and some other little tweaks . it is to nice to run into the ground .

Persil

I think poly bushing that will ruin the ride.

I tell you a quick story, few years ago i bought yet another Jag, just when poewerflex released the bushes for them.

Did the car, because it needed a refresh anyway, never heard so many noises plus a ruined ride. Changed them all back.

Now i know thats not a jag, but its still a comfy thing and its auto, its not a car thats going to benefit from a hard ride.

Of course i dont know what you like in cars but i would have a good think about poly bushes.

Bear in mind Alfa know a thing or two about suspension themselves.
