Haven homeless shelter

Some people have said it looks like the logo for a poker site.

Is it that bad?

And what about the tagline? Is it easy to 'get'?

Lose the second heart and it's more clear IMHO. Although, it might be better if the first heart wasn't a heart, but a house - more relevant.

Would be better without the first heart and the tag line a little ambiguous, is it "a home no less" or "a home, no less".

Yeah, definitely remove the inverted heart.

Also, does it have to be that vivid red? that colour alone is going a long way to suggesting poker/playing cards.

Lots of options for further exploration and development: turn the H into a house, have the A as a roof, use a negative-spaced heart, use a more characterful typeface, extend the tag line to align with the EN...

I thought it was a poker site before I read your words.

As previously mentioned, lose the hearts. A Monopoly house would make a good A.
