McDonalds Goop™ *note, the video in the first post has NOTHING to do with McDonalds*

what doesnt bother you about the chicken? the fact thats its 100% chicken breast?

must be easy for groups like PETA to brain wash everyone if this forum is anything to go by

It doesnt bother me because i dont eat the chicken, is that clear enough for you??...if i did then i would say differently but because i dont eat the chicken from Mcd's....its of no relevance to me.

And as for PETA??..well seeing as i neither pay or listen to anything they say then your last point falls flat on its backside.

Don't be so naive!

jesus christ its like we're in a ****ing time warp.

Mcdonalds did use to get their chicken from chicken nuggets in some rather nasty ways.

They get loads of bad publicity from it and changed. We had the threads on here when they announced it was now made from 100 % chicken breast. Everybody was like "lol what was it made from before"

Its the same with the beef burgers - they used to be rather dubious but in more recent times they state on their website exactly what cuts of meet they use and that its 100 % beef.

Mcdonalds isnt healthy, because the chicken / chips are deep fried and the big mac sauce is made from full fat mayo etc..

but its not made from rubbish.

no do you have shares in misinformation?

face it the facts are they use chicken breast if you dont believe that why dont you try to sue them because there boss clearly states they use chicken breast if you can prove different you can become very rich.

next you will be telling us marks and spencers use better ingredients in there food when its generally well known that most people use the same suppliers and generally just stick there own label on food another company makes for them the same companies that will also make food for there competitors

LOL

never heard such rubbish

if you cant taste the difference between something like iceland chicken nuggets and M&S chicken nuggetss then i advise seeing a doctor. they DO use better ingredients . same even goes for the difference between birdseye and supermarkets own.

''it all comes from the same factory'' is surely mostly a rumour made up by grandparents to get kids to eat

I'm not fussed about the contents/origins- If I was concerned, I simply wouldn't eat at McDonalds.

It's all about the taste and hangover curing ability :p

Recycled meat is very common, look at Subway's ingredients... The ham and turkey sandwich for instance, both meats are reclaimed, by means of effectively putting the butchered (ie all good meat gone) carcass into a machine which grinds sucks and breaks off any 'edible' bits of meat. That meat is then ground and mashed into something resembling ham/turkey.

I hate people tampering with my food, be it additives, preservatives or de-decaffeinated beverages. Food science makes me rage.

So I'm assuming you eat everything organic?

Do you believe that Tesco/Morrisons/Sainsburys etc have there own malt squares factories/weetabix/digestive biscuit/dog&cat food factories/washing up liquid/soap factories? and they also have Tesco/Morrisons/Sainsburys fields?

Hell I bet they even have there own Sea where they fish the value fish from.

Lol back at ya.

it might not be exactly the same recipe for each store but the factories which make for the various different supermarkets/brands will use the exact same supplier for ingredients in each recipe.

this is how it works , supermarket goes to a food company says we want chicken nuggets we have a budget of £1.50 per packet

food company makes chicken nuggets to that budget goes to supermarket says try these.

supermarket is happy with the result , says these are fine start mass production.

food company uses the same ingredients for each company it makes chicken nuggets for, recipes might vary slightly

Not true, Companies will use different grades of meat. Think it was sainsburys taste the different range actually uses higher grade meat than the others, rather than just more of it. Although a lot are the same just more of the core ingredients and less fillers.

In this thread it seems every time we get to a point where someone knowledgeable comes in and disproves that which is presented in the OP as fact, a whole new load of people pile in without reading the rest of the thread and muddy the waters again :(

I wont touch another chicken burger or chicken nugget from a supermarket again. I used to love those chicken drummers until one day I got a massive bit of bone in one. I felt sick for days just thinking about it.

Same goes for cheap burgers. Only ones I'll touch from the supermarket are Birdseye.

Thing is for me, I tend to eat at some local stalls at a Market near work. I have no idea where they source their ingredients, possibly from cheap sources. There's no information apart from the usual "freshly made" "Home made" etc. signs.
With McDonalds you know, because of their transparency and regulations that the meat they serve is safe and what it says. Most likely these stalls will have to meet some regulations, but I wonder if they're nearly as strict as the big boys have to meet.

I'm just curious as to other opinions on this, who would you trust/buy from a company say like McDonalds or a local stall?

That said Beef Burrito and Onion Rings from Pedros tastes amazing :D

Well, I could just explain in great detail where that's all wrong, but fundamentally, you're talking tripe. How exactly do you mash something into something that resembles ham/turkey? Hmmmm?

You don't. You can buy fairly large pieces of turkey or pork shoulder and pack them tight into a bag and cook that bag in a steam oven for several hours. When you take the bag off the resulting joint is turkey or ham and you can smoke it, slice it etc. That's how Subway's meat is made. I know because I used to run the Technical Department in the factory that made it.

Dear god. If you actually knew anything about Food Science you'd know that YOU, the consumer has basically forced the food producers to not use anything anymore.

They've even taken the salt and the nitrates out of bacon for goodness sake. A product that has been a staple method of preserving meat for thousands of years and the EU says no - you can't have any residual nitrates anymore. Fine, a product that used to last 3 months now lasts 3 weeks. It's what you, the Anti-Food Science customer base want. Well, you've got it. Enjoy.

RAGE? You don't know the half of it.

Well, at least you know it wasn't MRM then eh?

Birds Eye? Oh yes, they're a real high-end product. Well, that's what their marketing department would have you believe. Only it's frozen...

Of course - Michel Roux, Gary Rhodes, Heston Blumenthal - they all use frozen don't they? Yep . Quality!

Birdseye chicken stuff is exactly the same though. I had their battered chicken fillets once and it was just powdered chicken, mashed together and put in a breadcrumb batter. It was not good at all. I will never buy anthing like that again.
