HTC Wildfire?

Ok so I've lost my Desire, well my girlfriend did. I'm sad :(

Now I want another Android phone but can't justify the price tag on another Desire so the Wildfire seems a life saver! I can find the phone cheapish but it's on 3 network, is it possible too unlock that so I can use my Orange sim and not ruin the phone? I know about the San Francisco but HTC phones are just quality and I want another!

Any thoughts?

Yeah I've done more than enough research, I'm just worried about being able to unlock it for Orange really. Only real downgrade I will probably notice is the screen difference, which I think I can cope with.

This sucks, I miss my Desire :( bloody women.
 
You can unlock the phone. Search for e-unlocks on the bay. I've used him to unlock my Desire and Kaiser without issues.
 
oh i see... yeah ebay was where i grabbed a code to unlock at HTC hero, a good seller will have ample feedback and promise a refund if it fails.
 
I played with my cousin's Wildfire last night and also set up her Market and apps and was surprised at how solid the phone was. The OS as well, although 2.1 Update 1, was smooth and slick and i had no problems to note other than the baby screen resolution :p

It's a perfect girly phone though and she only uses it for messaging as I noted the Market was never used and stuff!

I tested out various stuff to see the speed and apps like Bambuser which streamed perfectly to my Desire and video etc was smooth too.

Nice little handset!
 
My wife has a wildfire, its a brilliant little phone.
I was surprised just how good it is given some of the utter crap thats been written about it on these forums.
 
My missus has the Wildfire and I have to agree its a great phone for the price. I think I would consider getting one if I lost my desire, although the san francisco is also very good ... cheaper build quality compared to the wildfire yes .. but damn good display.

The Wildfire's got such a low-res screen though. Coming from a Desire I couldn't face going back to QVGA 320x240 after 800x480 tbh :eek:
 
San Francisco is the obvious better phone and for £99 it's a deal!

BTW is it £99 on Pay&G?
